Sound and playability usually suffer at these affordable prices
but not with Makala. The reason this uke is better than others
in it's price range is the way the back of the ukulele is constructed. Instead
of using a flat piece of composite wood the back is moulded into
a slight arched shape. This forces the sound waves forwards to
the front of the ukulele and out of the soundhole. The top is
made from laminate Agathis wood, the back and sides are moulded
plastic and the fingerboard is Rosewood
